KITTEN

DAILY SCHEDULE

We are flexible with infant schedules, as it will primarily be based around their biological schedule of when they need to be feed. We adopt the infant resting time. Kittens will spend their day with their caregiver experiencing the same natural rhythm that they have at home. We will be working on gross motor skills, multi-sensory and mental development.

ARRIVAL

7:00 AM - 8:30 AM

  • Free play with quiet activities such as books, puzzles, table games, and non-messy art materials

  • At arrival all parents must sign in through our app Bright Wheel using one our iPad or through their phone (Parents must also document the last time infant was feed and the amount given)

  • Infant profile through Bright Wheel will be updated through the day (times feed, amount given, diaper changes, meals eaten, napping, special happenings, child’s mood, and supplies needed)

breakfast

8:30 AM - 9:00 AM

  • Infant will be giving their Breakfast (Menu will follow NJ State Food Program).

  • Everyone needs to wash their hands and brush their teeth (if needed)

  • Infant will help with clean up and play with table toys, read books, or listen to story tapes until everyone finishes breakfast and cleans up.

CIRCLE TIME

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM

  • Infant will each get a turn being helper for the day, we do calendar, weather, counting, patterns, ABC’s, finger plays etc.  We also, have a color, shape, letter, number for each month. Please see our curriculum for the Kitten Classroom for a detailed information.

OUTDOOR PLAY
(WEATHER PERMITTING)

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

  • During extreme hot or cold weather, the infants will not go outside.

  • Infants will be allowed to have time in the swings, bouncers and exersaucers all with secured safety straps.Infants will also have ample time on a blanket for one-on-one tummy time to explore and learn sensory materials that are age appropriate.

  • Those infants that walk will be allowed to do so at their leisure. We have a double and a quad stroller available.Each child is supported in a child size seat with a seat belt.

FREE PLAY TIME

  • Play time will consist of floor time which could include ball play, rolling, blocks, puppet play, stacking blocks, peek-a-boo, bubbles, etc.

  • Infants will also have time in the swings, bouncers and exersaucers.

  • We will plan activities to develop oral motor skills and the other senses of touch, sound, and smell.

  • These activities will be tailored to accommodate the changing needs of each individual infant. Please see our curriculum for the Kitten Classroom for a detailed information

Toileting/
Preparation for Lunch

11:00 AM - 11:30 AM

  • (diapers in boxes labeled with names on shelves)

  • Diaper changes take place every 2 hours unless needed more frequently

LUNCH

11:30 AM - 12:00 PM

  • Infant will be giving their Lunch (Menu will follow NJ State Food Program).

  • Teacher will encourage Infant to talk about what they are eating, how the food is prepared, or something of a solely social nature.

  • We will allow to feed themselves when possible while providing enough time to eat. Some Infant are slow eaters, ample time should be allowed.

  • Quiet activities will be available for those who are finished early

  • Everyone needs to wash their hands and brush their teeth, if needed.

STORY TIME

12:00 PM - 12:30 PM

  • We will read the Infant stories while they sit on their nap/rest area.

  • Plan a quiet activity for the Infant right before rest time, such as reading a story or playing soft music.

NAP/REST TIME

12:30 PM - 2:30 PM

  • Infants should be allowed to nap on their own schedules, and even older Infant may need to nap unexpectedly at times.

  • Everyone has a rest period. We will give Infant time to settle down at their own pace.

  • Infants will wake up from nap on their own time

TOILETING/
DIAPER CHANGE

2:30 PM - 3:00 PM

  • Older infants will help putting away their blankets in hall closet.

SNACK TIME

3:00 AM - 3:30 PM

  • (Menu will follow NJ State Food Program).

  • Infants will be singing, dancing, play an instrument etc. Please see our curriculum for the Kitten Classroom for a detailed information.
